Nuoruus (translation: youth) came to life in 2018 in Järvenpää as a personal project of Kalle Kauranen. Through a process of just-having-fun-and-learning songs were born and released. This gave rise to a casually indifferent aesthetic that effortlessly emerged from the raw and rambling sound of the initial releases. Soon a band formed from a group of close-knit musicians: Mitri Maarajärvi, Aatu Kovanen, Eetu Tuominen, and Iikka Puolakka. Thus, flesh was added around the bones. The members have a long history with various music-related projects and good times, and this manifested itself even more as DIY parties and gigs became an integral part of the band's and its friends' lives.

The debut album took shape during the pandemic years, crafted with care and a love for the lifestyle mentioned earlier. Despite the album being imbued with humor and a playful approach, the primary focus of the songs remains in the contemplation of existence and a yearning for intense emotions and moments. Nuoruus is a band propelled by the joy of creation, free from excessive seriousness, embracing its own flaws and mistakes with pleasure. The album was recorded in Iikka's workspace (Roadhouse Studios), paying homage to the DIY spirit that is engraved in the memories of Järvenpää's Dahl, the band's first practice space.
